Scandal-prone star Shia LaBeouf is embroiled in a new controversy after Entertainment Tonight published a video of an apparent heated argument between the actor and his girlfriend.
In the clip, the Transformer actor is seen in an altercation with his girlfriend, British actress Mia Goth, outside a hotel in Tubingen, Germany. Goth is in the area for the shoot of Gore Verbinski’s horror film A Cure for Wellness.
The video, apparently taken by a group of locals who spotted the couple screaming at each other as they exited a taxi on Friday night, appears to show a clearly intoxicated LaBeouf. One witness, interviewed by German media, said he helped break up the fight between LaBeouf and Goth.
In the video, LaBeouf can be heard saying he doesn’t want to "hit a woman" before struggling with Goth for his bag. Later in the video he says: "if I’d have stayed there, I would have killed her."
At one point in the video, LaBeouf appears to try and Facetime his Transformers co-star Megan Fox.
The incident is only the latest in a series of public scandals, or some would say public performance art pieces, for the 29-year-old LaBeouf, whose antics have included wearing a paper bag over his head (which read "I’m not famous anymore") for the premiere of Lars von Trier’s Nymphomaniac in Berlin last year and running around a museum in Amsterdam 144 times in Day-Glo spandex.
